Inside the Nousresearch website design
Nousresearch is an AI website built with WordPress, Next.js, and Three.js. Its pages are built from hero, features, footer, feature grid, and editorial sections, shown here in full-page captures and a scroll recording. Typography: EB Garamond. Palette: #E0E0FF, #406060, #202040.
Nous Research is a pioneer in open AI training and research. We created Hermes Agent, the most widely used open source agent harness in the world. We are on a mission to create and proliferate open access to intelligence. Its visual style is brutalist, typographic, and retro, with navigation bar, hero, and feature collection among its components.
Why we picked it
A pale page opens with tall condensed blue type, then drops into a long electric blue section where halftone, dot matrix portraits give the research a raw, countercultural mood rather than a corporate one. Short text blocks and small terminal and app screenshots break the dense blue field into readable chapters as you scroll.
What to look for
- Hero: a specific headline instead of a generic slogan
- Features: benefits framed around what the user gets, not internal capability names
- Footer: grouped navigation with clear column headings
- Feature Grid: mixed card sizes that show priority
